Type of Therapy Approaches
Psychodynamic is a form of talk therapy that focuses on understanding the deeper, unconscious emotions and motivations that shape a person's behavior. It is rooted in the belief that past experiences, particularly those from childhood, significantly impact current behavior and mental health.
Compassion-focused therapy (CFT) aims to enhance compassion for oneself and others. It is particularly useful for individuals struggling with self-criticism, shame, and self-judgment.
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) an action-oriented approach to psychotherapy that combines elements of traditional behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Clients learn to accept their deeper feelings as appropriate responses to situations, rather than avoiding or struggling with them, which allows them to move forward in their lives.
Gottman Therapy aims to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers causing stagnation, and foster empathy and understanding within the relationship.
